Students, parents and staff at Abbot Beyne now have access to student attendance detail on a session by session (am/pm) basis. This will prove useful in monitoring and improving attendance and hence lead to even greater achievement than OFSTED noted in our "Good" July 2007 inspection. Students can also see how their attendance compares with their peers in an anonymous pictogram format.

Abbot Beyne celebrated a good set of results today when Year 11 came to collect their GCSE results. 46.11% of students gained a grade C or above in 5 or more subjects and there were some exceptional achievements. All but two students gained a GCSE pass in at least one subject and 94% gained five or more passes.
Many students gained their passes at the higher grades (25% at B or above) but special mention must go to the girl who gained 12 passes at an A* grade, something to be very proud of.
Students and Staff alike enjoyed a pleasing set of A level results today with many students realising their dream of going to University.
43% of results were the top two grades A or B and 96% of results were passes (E or above). Across the whole of Year 13, students exceeded their nationally set Alis targets by a tenth of a grade keeping the trend for excellent A Level results at Abbot Beyne.
Congratulations to all those students involved.
Year 10 Students took part in an extremely successful event based around the process of designing and selling cars to dealerships run by staff. The event was run as a competition and the response from the external organisers was astounding; We had a super day today with your Year 10 students. They were all a credit to the school and especially themselves, We have visited many schools around Staffordshire and it must be said that your Year 10's are some of the best we have worked with. They went on to mention; Smart appearance, Good manners and behaviour, Excellent teamwork, Good listening, Positive attitude, Commitment to tasks, Reliable timekeeping, Good use of enterprise skills. They were also very impressed with the help and support from all the teachers, along with the school's hospitality.
It was very positive to receive these comments about a successful event that will become a regular feature towards the end of year 10.
OFSTED recently visited the school and were very positive about the huge improvements that we have made since the last inspection. In almost all areas the school was graded as good or better.
A full report will follow.
An amazing evening was had by all when they attended the annual Abbot Beyne Dance extravaganza. Audiences were enthralled by the dancing through the ages from the Lindy Hop right through to modern street dancing.
The sell out audience of pupils, parents and staff were treated to over an hour of dancing and the pupils were rewarded for their efforts with the obvious enthusiasm of the audience and a double page spread in the Burton Mail.
